GENERAL COURSE WITH SPECIALIZATION

This program offers a creative pathway to eligibility for university or vocational education, focusing on arts, crafts, or gardening. Participants integrate practical, artistic, and theoretical studies.

The General Course (Allmän kurs) includes specializations like Art & Crafts, Wood and Form, Art-Painting and Sculpture, Ceramics, and Ecological Cultivation. The curriculum encompassesthematic studies, lectures, study visits, and a balance between theoretical and practical aspects. Participants receive a certificate of eligibility for further studies at higher education institutions or pursue careers in their chosen field.

CERAMICS

Explore ceramics in a stimulating and creative environment at Vårdinge Folkhögskola. The program offers a comprehensive foundation in ceramic artistry. In the first year, you’ll learn various techniques and work with different materials, progressing to self-directed specialization in the second year. The curriculum covers diverse aspects, including porcelain cups, sculptures, and various firing methods. No prior experience is required, only enthusiasm and interest in ceramics. The program integrates themes, practical skills, and encourages personal artistic exploration.

ART & CRAFTS

Art & Crafts at Vårdinge Folkhögskola provides a broad foundation in artistic craftsmanship. The one-year program covers diverse materials and techniques, such as silver crafting, woodworking, ceramics, and more. Participants engage in practical work, learn to use various tools, and develop their creative skills. The curriculum includes courses like Silversmithing, Textiles, Woodcraft, Ceramics, and others.

ECOLOGICAL CULTIVATION – GARDEN AND CRAFT

This program targets those interested in ecological cultivation, offering a holistic perspective on gardening. Emphasizing sustainability, the curriculum covers topics from vegetable cultivation to creative crafting. The program involves hands-on group work, practical experiences, and thematic studies in areas like biodiversity, climate impact, and societal aspects. Students participate in various activities like creative gardening, composting, beekeeping, and sustainable building practices.

WOOD AND FORM – EDUCATION IN CARPENTRY, DESIGN, AND CRAFTSMANSHIP

This one-year program at Vårdinge Folkhögskola is designed for those seeking a fundamental education in furniture carpentry, design, and craftsmanship. Participants explore various aspects of the field, enhancing their understanding of wood properties and design processes. The curriculum includes traditional techniques, design methodologies, and practical applications. The program emphasizes respect for forests, cultural heritage, and contemporary craftsmanship. There is an option for a second year for further specialization and practical training.

Art – PAINTING AND SCULPTURE

Explore your artistic identity in this one-year program. From classical techniques to free experiments, you’ll dive into drawing, watercolor, acrylic, oil, and sculpture. Our artist instructors support your development, providing personal studio spaces. The program culminates in a contemporary art course, empowering you to articulate and pursue your artistic vision.
